Actually, this reminds me a bit of japanese stone gardens with it´s zen-like excercise in beautiful futility.
And to further inspirate you on your trip, here are some UTTERLY excellent japanese wood prints, my number one inspiration source from now on, period. Did I say "some"? I meant "a plethora".
